Lents Springwater Corridor                     Habitat Restoration Project

The Lents Springwater Habitat Restoration Project is a community group that facilitates tree plantings by local kids on the Springwater Corridor in the Lents neighborhood in Portland, Oregon. Don't be afraid of the mud; the end result is a restoration of the native habitat. Dig around in this website — you'll learn a bit about this successful project and you might even want to get more closely involved.

"Planting trees is a good thing, but for me it’s about the kids;
I want them to take more pride and ownership in their neighborhood."

— Ed Kerns

The Lents Springwater project was recently recognized for making a positive difference in its community by Etown, a nationally heard NPR radio show.
